Entry title: Band Concert! :D

Today was the day of the
BAND CONCERT! :D
(i forgot what was the name of the concert heh)
We met in school at around 12.15, warm-ed up, then took the school bus to Singapore Conference Hall for practice. We got ourselves a cute dance-studio-like room with mirrors, which made us sound super good, but cos of the echos /: But Ms Sia said that if we could acheive that standard, we'd be considered good! (So there's hope after all yay :P)
Then at around 2.15pm we went to the actual place for rehearsing. Everyone was quite scared at that time for some reason, but I wasn't. Then when we were asked to go in, I SAW ALMOST THE ENTIRE HALL FULL OF BAND PEOPLE.
Which had an direct impact on me. No wonder everyone was so scared that time. I didn't pay attention whoops O: The 45 mins spent in there was so scary (to me heh) :D
Then at 6.30pm plus plus, after our Mcdonalds dinner, we prepared for the actual concert! :D While we were waiting at the entrance, Jiahui, Lynette, Hannah, Ruei Ern, Wen En, and Samantha came to visit us yaayyyyy! :D I am sooo sooo super happy you guys came hahahah yay! (certain potatoes couldn't make it for some reason I forgot D:)

Our playing was quite disappointing though /: FLUTES WERE OUT OF TUNE GEEEEZZZZ. After all the time Ann and I spent trying to make the section sound okay ): Solo part was rather okay though. Thank goodness I didn't get so nervous until I couldn't hold long enough (refers to the Genting competition) O:
I think we played very few dynamics. At most, we had maybe mp to f? When the range ideally was supposed to be pp to fff? Or was it ppp. Ahh that's worse D:
All in all, it was a happy Band Concert! :D I hope that during SYF we can play twice better. With an extended range of dynamics! And a pro-er flute solo! And happy nice-sounding flutes that are IN TUNE. Heh, what a wonderful dream :D
...but dreams are meant to be acheived! So GO SNSB! Yeah! :D

(just pretend I posted this yesterday, it's a yesterday's post!)
Ate lunch at 11.30am, which is like one hours after my breakfast O: I almost felt like vomiting urgh O:
Arrived in school at 11.45am. Berato was supposed to be at that time. They tricked me /: We took attendance at 12 noon instead. With my burger still un-digested in my stomach ):
Went to Singapore Conference Hall to rehearse for SYF. Ann said it would be very cold on the actual day. But it wasn't when we went to rehearse. I think they were trying to save energy. They weren't any air-cons turned on at the ground level!
And we had to practice on some balcony thing. Which made us hotter. And sweatier.
The practice session was all in all okay. Oh yeah that reminds me, I've gotta advertise! :D
SNSB CONCERT! 28 FEBRUARY 09 SINGAPORE CONFERENCE HALL 7.30pm to (probably) 9.30pm TIckets at $10
9 other Bands would be playing in the concert toooo. We'll be playing our SYF pieces. Piece. Only Jericho. Hahhah quite boring cos we've been like playing it since last year! But still, come support us (and Mr Ong's company hahah)! :D

Chem Test was SCREWED. It was so much more "in depth" than I thought it would be! ): I wanna go back to Sec Two! When full marks for Science Tests were possible ):
Auditions were SCREWED. Yes, it was TODAY. The entire Sec 3 cohort had Chem Test till 3.30 so they came late for Band. And the moment I went to the Band Room, Ann called me to help her teach the Sec Ones! I had no idea auditions were today. Until Yuqing popped it up. URGHHHH!
My head was SCREWED. Major major headache today. At first I thought it was only the lack of proper sleep. Then just when I was about to go for the auditions, the headache came! The timing was just too perfect man. URGHHHHHHHH!
I hate "Celebration". I hate the chair that they used during the audition. Most of all, I HATE THE FACT THAT I DIDN'T ASK HIM WHETHER I GOT IN OR NOT.

Oh today was so nice man! I think I'm starting to have more interest in flute than piano whoops hahaha :D
Today Lynette nicely agreed to stay back with me to practice the two flute pieces! (Yeah she's my accompanist :D) We went to the MEP super early and practiced. And ate. Hahahah :D
Then at 3.15 plus plus, my teacher came in to see us play. It was okay I guess (: Oh okay then the fun part began.
After like maybe half an hour, the ensemble room door squeaked open. Potato (sorry Sum no offense, I mean the OTHER one) came lumbering (HHAHAHA) in and asked in Chinese, "Sorry for the interruption, I need to move some keyboards."
I was like "Okaaaaaaay" And I think Lynette was thinking the same way hahah :D
Then he took his own sweet time to move the keyboards. I mean. He actually examined the keyboards before moving them to the MEP room. Meanwhile, I continued playing while he was still inside.
He left the door open for like, ages. Then finally when he came in for the last time, he was like walking towards me (I ignored him) and searched the floor. Then he picked something up and said "Is this yours?"
IT WAS A TAMBOURINE.
Like why in the world would I bring a tambourine to school??
And Wang Tong was cute enough to add, "Oh, you can play it as percussion for your second exam piece" HAHAHAHA! :D I think she was trying to break the akward pause hahah.
The good thing is, I think I'm gonna do okay for the pieces...! :D

CNY Party at my house today!
It was funnn! Hahah :D My mum's and dad's friends all came starting at 2pm then they drag till 6pm while my dad's friends came at 7pm! So cool huh! Hahaha :D
Geez man. A small little guy (i thought he was P3) came into my room and talked to me. I was studying MEP and Chem at the same time (hahah) and I happened to put my Chem book near me. Then he was like "Can I read it?" Of course I said yes. Then he was reading it from cover to cover, like he was so engrossed in it! O: At first I thought he was just fascinated by the cuteness of atoms and other drawings, then suddenly he asked "Hey is the answer C for this question"
I was rather shocked that he took the reading so seriously so I went to check, AND HE WAS DOWNRIGHT CORRECT! O: O: I asked him where did he learn all these stuff from then he said "I go to the net to learn"
Like WOAH right. And he's just P5! He should've gotten into the Gifted Programme. Pro geniuses like him should belong in Raffles Institution! Hahah I'm sooo jealous! :D
I dunno why I'm still a little affected. That just screams injustice man.
Entry title: Flute Section Juniors!

Ahh they were so cute okay! :D The moment Ms Sia came, she made Danica and I and some other people to go give instrument mouthpieces to the Sec Ones! Danica and I were sooo excited! But we didn't really know what to do, and THERE WERE ALMOST NOT ENOUGH FLUTES! Unless you count the algae one eew.
Three juniors in total! But I only know one name hahah :D Sheryl something. And a short haired one, and another tall one! Like me hahah :D But they were so quiet. Hmmm must make them talk more during sectionals tmrw! :D
Oh oh and the air con in the Dance Studio was FREEEZING COLD!! It was so cold and I was sitting very the air con and it kept blowing at me! D: Hence I played while shivering. Zhangdi thinks it's vibrato. Just like her "cute" tutor.

Oh goodness gracious me. SHE IS SO DMN IRRITATING.
Band tomorrow! I'm actually looking forward to it...! Cos we'll finally be able to get to know our Sec One juniors! So cooool hahahh! :D
Ting Xie is over and I think I'm able to hit hit Su Long's expectations! Yay! Cheng Yu was surprisingly well done and easy! Just hope I don't make any careless mistakes.
Maria's being a tad annoying again. She keeps changing deadlines for us from thie Friday to next week. Then to Week 8 etc etc. And now we have to do another persuasive speech! She cancelled the one before and now she gives us each a specific title to draft on! And it's graded! Now all my hardwork from the previous one is like wasted D:
Entry title: Sec Ones Orientation!

Omg so super cool man! Today we got to see the cute Sec Ones yay! :D
Hahah, the Sec Ones so attentive and most of them (I'm proud to say), are non-AP! Yay! :D They were a total of 30 plus recruited including 4 Sec Twos, but none of them were China Scholars! O:
While the rest of the band were in the Dance Studio playing stuffs and getting tortured by her, we were playing Wacko with the Sec Ones! :D Super super fun hahah! :D Joan just had to use me as an example in the instructions of the game and in the end, I almost got wacked many times. But thanks to Grace, I didn't! :D Hoho~
Ahhh then instead of the 2 games we were supposed to carry out, we only played Wacko, cos Ms Sia wanted us back by 4.30pm instead of 5pm! And Ms D_ just had to make the Sec Ones say out a reflection on how lucky they got into Band or something, which took up even more time D: Why must she transfer from Choir! O:
Oh oh and the best of it all is that I got back from the Orientation just at the right time! No solos, no loud flute parts to play hahah! She was also extra black-faced today, for no apparent reason. And Yuqing told me that she sent people out the moment they made a mistake! Small or not! So scary. So Mr Ong got angry with her cos she sent too many people out hahah :D
I'm happy today...! Oh wait. Ting Xie tomorrow. Su Long expects everyone to get 80% and above. COS WE'RE EC. Like WHAT! Cos I didn't even know Chinese was inclusive to EC! I thought Maths and Science only! Like I don't struggle enough during normal lessons...? Sigh ):
Entry title: TKGS Band Exchange

In my opinion, we totally embarrased ourselves on Saturday.
Firstly, compared to the others, we had fewer Band members than the other schools present (I think). And to top it up, she had to make the Sec Ones not play, and hence, resulting in even fewer members and made our sound softer.
Then we had to go first. The Band leaders had to go draw lots for who to go first and guess what. We got first O: But it was good actually (for me) cos I had to pee and couldn't wait for all performances to end hahah :D
Okay about the performance. We totally BUUUSH-ED the entire performance. We were so soft, some of us were out of tune, and our fff sounded probably like hmm, mf? Yeah /: The drums were either ahead of us or behind us during "Celebration" and Ms Sia's eyes were like bulging out cos it was very obvious that we were out of time O: Oh and don't get me started on the solo. IT WAS CRABBY REALLY. Hated it man ):
After the performance, Ms Sia called Trombones out and they disappeared for a rather long time. Then when Yuqing came back from the toilet, she said she heard the entire section getting scolded by her /: Thank goodies she didn't call on Flutes. Everyone was practically trembling when she came back geez.
Tsktsk. No wonder she keeps threatening to drop out of SYF this year ):
Oh and to top it all up, me and my crabby feelings were still crabbing in me (what kind of sentence is this) and when we were on our way out, I heard this wonderful nice sound. Someone was playing the flute. Real real professionally. And it made me feel so sad y'know. Then I spotted the guy who was playing it. So mean man, make Ningo sadder. I think I saw him in a workshop before. Teaching us. No wonder.
